Writers are quirky.
We pound out our hearts on a keyboard or scribble ourselves to oblivion.
We’re also as different from one another as the 152 assorted crayons in a large Crayola® box. With a built-in pencil sharpener.
If there is one thing we all have in common, though, it’s the need to settle in somewhere and feel creative to write. But how do you feel creative?
That leads me to today’s prompt.
Pamela’s Prompts: What do You Need to Feel Creative?
Here’s what I wrote:
- Quiet. That’s my number one thing. I know some writers like to listen to music during their writing sessions, but that’s not me.
- A large bottle of water. Hydration helps the brain.
- A tube of lip gloss. I don’t know why, but every time I set down to write, my lips go dry.
- Hand lotion in a light scent. Nothing musky or heavy to distract me.
- A stress ball. Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze that writer’s block away!
- A lit seasonal candle. My current favorite is a fresh, linen scent.
Now, it’s your turn. Set a timer for 15 minutes and write. Ready? Set? Go!
